ASO ShowHouse is Going Green!.....and they are doing it in compliance with some of the most stringent national guidlelines for certification of residential projects! A green home uses less energy, water and natural resources, creates less waste and is healthier for the people living inside compared to a standard home. It is a home that is enviromnental safe and friendly to its surroundings and is built with efficient and/or reclaimed aterials. It's as simple as that!
National Green Building Standard (ICC700-2008) for all residential construction work has been approved by the American National Standards Instiitue (ANSI). The National Green Building Standard is the first green building rating system to be approved by ANSI, making it the benchmark for green homes. This standard is a national scale that defines what green practices have been incorporated inot a home that qualifies it for an ANSI certification.
The 2009 Acadiana Symphony Orchestra ShowHouse , located at 304 Opus One, Broussard, LA., by McLain Homes is one of the nation's first to apply for and pass its first certification inspection! This certification is the first of several that will be done on the home as it is being completed
McLain Homes expects this year's ShowHouse to meet the National Green Building Standarrds makeing it one of the nations first ANSI approved Green Homes.
